Strange Dream
I don’t frequently log my dreams, but this one was just so bizarre.
I was visiting family, but my wife (err, ex-wife :() was with me. We were near an island, somewhere in the Bahamas. I owned a large sailboat, one with a nice below-deck area and so on, and she and I were just out there drifting around. I was thinking at the time that I didn’t know how to sail, and it was fortunate we didn’t have anywhere we needed to be. We fell asleep on the drifting sailboat, just offshore from the island.
When we awoke, I just started chatting with her, oblivious to where we were. We had somehow come ashore and slid into a large bay of some kind, near an airport runway. A plan was coming down, but overshooting the runway. It sliced the boat down the middle, lengthwise, but somehow left us both unharmed. I remember thinking “darn, now I need a new boat.”
Then an insurance adjuster came. I remember walking around in the back of a truck (a moving truck, I think?) which was parked in the giant boat garage I’d ended up on. I was remarking how useful it was that the adjuster was there since I had multiple coverage through them, on my plane (apparently that was mine too), my boat, and my truck — and also my ice cream machine, which was in my truck. Oddly, I don’t recall the ice cream machine being broken.
Yeah. Anyway, that’s it. Odd, huh?
