In checking out this article at Popular Mechanics, I couldn’t help but feel I had seen the Nubrella before. Then it hit me.

Why does the nubrella have an erection? And why is the model holding onto it?
That’s a joystick. The wearer, or as the Nubrella calls him, “the host”, uses it to communicate his locomotion desires to his sentient headwear, which then grants permission to move as it sees fit.
You gotta wonder what the hell some of these “inventors” are thinking when they sit down at the sketch pad… or if they’re doing it on purpose for the attention.
Better, Cheaper, and doesn’t invoke hysteria.
