New king of the parking lot

Some of you might remember a post a while back in which I complained about someone taking up two parking spaces with their non-new yet non-classic Corvette in the Applebee’s parking lot across the road from my office. Recently, I noticed a Dodge minivan parked diagonally across two spaces in our lot. I initially figured that the person was just a horrible parker, but now, after several straight weeks of seeing this same van parked that way, I’ve discovered that the owner actually believes their minivan is deserving of the extra protection afforded by taking up two spaces. The silver color on that van must be from platinum plating, if they seriously think that crap is justified.

There’s a really simple solution to this. The next time you see someone parked that way, wait until a ruch time when the lot is full (or nearly so). Call the place up, ask to speak to the manager, and explain that you and a party of six were planning to stop in for drinks and a meal, but went elsewhere because you couldn’t find a parking place. Unless the offending rig belongs to the manager him/herself, watch how quickly a tow truck appears to haul it away.

sounds like something I would do. : D
