Coolest inventions of 2003

Time Magazine has posted its “coolest inventions of 2003 picks.” Topping the list was Apple’s iTunes Music Store.

Also, there is a lovely writeup on fish-skin swimsuits complete with a link to the site of the company makes them. They have an online gallery of products that looks more like they’re trying to exhibit softcore porn than swimwear. Clue to ad execs: when you’re trying to sell a miniskirt, that doesn’t mean that’s the only thing the model needs to be wearing. Then again, when you’re trying to sell clothing made out of fish skin, I guess you need all the help you can get. :)

And finally, the amphibious car, which resembles a Mazda Miata in all but two ways:

1. It can retract its wheels in 12 seconds and achieve a top speed of 30mph on water.
2. It doesn’t suck.
