Personal update
Last night, gooselady gave me a fish. A Betta, to be precise. A Betta Splenden, to be even more precise. My birthday is coming up on the 29th, so I think it’s sort of an early birthday thing. Anyway, his name (at her suggestion) is Morpheus. He’s not quite the presence that Laurence Fishburne is, but he’s quite nice all the same. I have him here at the office. Here’s hoping he lives through the weekend. :)
In other news, my parents are coming into town this weekend. Now that I’m actually a little more acclimated to Louisville, I should at least have some ideas about where to take them and stuff. They’re going to meet gooselady’s folks for the first time this weekend, as well. Hopefully that will go well.
As for progress on PALADIN, it now auto-updates itself via HTTP, which is pretty slick. Also of note: I considered, if only for about 3 seconds, naming the fish Paladin, just so I could ask people if they saw the new “Paladin Betta,” and explain that it was swimming around in a bowl on my desk when they asked where they could download it. Also thrown out, for similar reasons, was the name “Alpha.” :)

Be kind to that fish and change it’s water often and be sure to add a dechlorinator:

Yep, I did a bunch of research online — as best I can tell my betta is feeling pretty happy so far — he’s making bubble nests. :)
I’m due to change the water tomorrow or the next day.
Sounds like yours is an old-timer — they say they generally only live around 2 years.
