Well, I finally wrestled the fax machine into submission after enduring a lockup during transmission, about 20 attempted sends during which their fax machine wouldn’t answer or was busy, and a botched send where only one page fed through. It was like something out of Office Space, I tell you. With any luck this should be the end of that saga, and therefore the final update about it you have to endure.

I’m currently attempting to call the KRC to have a little discussion with them regarding the topic of yesterday’s post. It’s 8:13 AM, and I’m getting voicemail that tells me “Thank you for calling the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet, division of Tax Administration. Our office hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday. Please call again during these scheduled hours. Thank you for calling.” Good to know they’re hard at work over there, and have a firm grasp on the nuances of discerning what time it is.
[ update at 8:26 AM -- nope, still nobody home ]
[ got someone at 8:41 AM -- click "more" for the "resolution" ]

I’ve been home for half an hour now, and should be asleep — normally I hit the sack relatively quickly when I get home. Tonight, for whatever reason, I just can’t seem to force myself to go to bed.

The Kentucky Revenue Cabinet owes me some money… it just seems that for whatever reason they don’t know it yet.

Imagine my shock when I browsed on over to my lovely future wife’s site and discovered that she has actually posted something! I figured I’d better post a notice here because I know those of her friends who were following her site have had to resort to coming here for updates on happenings involving her. ;)

When cooking squirrels: “To remove any hair that still adheres to the meat, place the carcass under slowly running water and pick the hair off by hand. Though tedious, this work is necessary if you wish to turn a squirrel into fine eating.” More helpful hints are available here.

In response to the numerous comments that the new site layout was nice, but the gray was just too “blah,” I’m now offering readers their choice of color. Pick a color on the right-hand sidebar (if you’re using IE or Safari, that is — not sure what other browsers the links work for, but some, like Mozilla, allow you to choose your active style from their menu bar), and all future pages on neorants.com will show up that way until you change your mind again. Any additional color requests? Just let me know.

As you may have noticed, I’ve changed the look and the backend of neorants.com. The color scheme itself isn’t finalized yet and I’m still smoothing out a few rough edges, but so far I’m happy with the change. I had tried Movable Type back when I first revived neorants.com, but at the time decided on Greymatter. Thanks to Bret for unknowingly providing me the inspiration to give MT another try. :)
