It seems that my run-ins with hostile geese are not isolated incidents. Just a couple of hours north, in Indianapolis, geese are showing flagrant disrespect towards canine law-enforcement officials. Worse yet, the police officer who terminated this terrorist goose with extreme prejudice is not being hailed as a hero, but has been suspended for “unnecessary use of a firearm.” Unnecessary, indeed. When the other 99,999 Canada geese of the estimated 100,000 in the state begin to mobilize their terrorist network, we’ll see then how unnecessary it was.

As an interesting side note: according to the article, involuntary goose abortion is legal. This means that if you can get to a potential terrorist goose prior to his hatching, you are authorized to destroy him (or her) while still in the egg. Word on the legality and ethical considerations involving partial birth abortions in geese is not out yet.
