Steve Martin vs. Michael Moore
Steve Martin has always been cool in my book (not that his status in my book makes a bit of difference to him nor anyone else) but I’ve just gained a new appreciation for the man. In this article, it mentions that he was asked “what really happened backstage at the Oscars when Michael Moore gave his famous antiwar tirade.” Martin’s response, regarding a line he quickly thought up but unfortunately decided not to use: “I was gonna say, ‘Be sure to buy Michael Moore’s book, “Stupid White Men,” which is evidently an autobiography.’ ”

he’s a very vocal person with dissident beliefs, so i’m not surprised he has made enemies. you should read the book if you get a chance. it’s full of very interesting facts and a healthy dose of very left-wing opinion.
