Sea monkey update

While we’re on the subject of everyone’s favorite giant-sperm-resembling pet, if this sea monkey innovation had only existed when I was young… Oh, the profitable career I would have had as a sea monkey race bookie. I’d also like to add that if someone buys me this item, I’ll actually set it up at my desk.

Fish are evil

A blog entry at the website of one of gooselady’s friends reminded me something about fish. They are sick little monkeys. Not really monkeys, of course, unless we’re talking about sea monkeys, which aren’t fish anyway — they’re brine shrimp. Anyway, back to the fish thing…

New health drink

OK, this is a disgusting home remedy. Not for the faint of heart. Don’t say I didn’t warn you if you click it and are deeply disturbed.

“Married by America” misnomer

I’m thinking maybe “Married by America” should be renamed “Shacked up by America.” As it turns out, after the proposals were made on Monday, the couples were whisked away to a private ranch where they will live together for 5 weeks doing “all the things engaged couples do” (accompanied by footage of a premarital test drive, if you get my drift) before tying the knot, if they’re still so inclined. Possibly you’re a stalker who wants to win my affections. Whatever the reason, it’s always a good time to buy me stuff.

Happy happy, joy joy

It’s a good day today. Actually, not just a good day, a great day. I’m sitting here eating my lunch and listening to some dance music and doing a bit of chair dancing as I type. I even started obsessing about something this morning, caught myself doing it, and switched it off. Score one for me versus excessive paranoia and unhappiness. But wait! There’s more!

Renting vs. owning

This article pretty much sums up my feelings on home ownership vs. renting. I have had a few discussions in the past where it’s been stated that by renting I’m “throwing money away.” Hearing this gross generalization is really frustrating to someone who very carefully weighed his options when making his current decision.

Interesting reading

Saw this article this morning. It’s a short biography about George W. Bush and his faith. No comment on my part needed really, I just thought it was interesting reading.

Art in everything

I’ve always been a creative type at heart. That’s why I like programming so much — you start with literally nothing and, given enough time and skill, you create anything you like. Ideas go straight from your mind into the machine. You create something tangible, possibly even beautiful or useful, out of absolutely nothing but your own thoughts. There is a certain empowerment in that, I think.
